Ichneumon wasp
This rather splendid Ichneumon wasp (
Pimpla sp)
was on our new patio doors
The oviposter is used to lay an egg onto a grub, which is then consumed when the egg hatches. Which may explan it's scientific name 'persuasive burglar'
